Missouri Legislation

House Bill 567

The Honorable Governor Bob Holden signed the legislation for
a practice act in Landscape Architecture on July 10, 2001. The
legislation effective date is August 28, 2001.

Highlights of the legislation include:

*Rules and regulations related to the legislation will be established
  by January 1, 2002.

*The current Landscape Architectural Council will be abolished
  following the Governor’s appointment of three landscape architects
  to the new Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers,
  Professional Land Surveyors and Landscape Architects.

*The new Board will consist of 14 members. The Landscape
  Architecture Division, consisting of the three members, will have
  one vote. These three members will appoint a chairperson among
  themselves. The Architectural, Engineering and Land Surveyor’s
  Divisions each have three members and three votes. When the
  Land Surveyor’s initially joined the combined board, they also had
  only one vote.
